It’s that time again! That’s right, every year The Parents Advisory Committee, associated with The Shoreline Community College, sponsors an event in which we arrange for a respected speaker to give a presentation on some aspect of parenting. We have had some fantastic and informative speakers in the past and this year is no exception. However, thanks to the willingness and enthusiasm of our neighboring childhood learning center, The Attic Learning Community, who has offered to co-sponsor this event with us, we were able to bring the internationally recognized, Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair, to Seattle this year!
Dr. Steiner-Adair will be presenting a talk from her book, “The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in The Digital Age.” The event will take place on March 17th, 2016 from 7-9 pm at the Shoreline Community College Gymnasium.
Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair is a clinical psychologist, school consultant, and author who will offer insights and advice that can help parents achieve a greater understanding, authority and confidence, as they are confronted with technology in the home. She will also help the audience learn the skills to distinguish between its educational, healthy and unhealthy use. For more information about Catherine Steiner-Adair, check out her webpage at http://www.catherinesteineradair.com.
Co-op families were given the opportunity to reserve a free ticket to this event, and based on the number of reserved tickets, our community has shown great enthusiasm! Please be sure to arrive on time for this amazing presentation, and we look forward to learning with you!
